Wimbledon 2012 Draw
The draw for the third Grand Slam of the year at Wimbledon has been released and Maria is the top seed and will face world no.133 Anastasia Rodionova of Australia in the first round on Monday.
Maria leads the series 4-0 against Rodionova, here are the matches they have played against each other:
2003 Roland Garros QR1: Maria won 6-3 6-3
2006 Los Angeles R2: Maria won 6-3 6-1
2007 Australian Open R2: Maria won 6-0 6-3
2011 Cincinnati R2: Maria won 6-1 6-3
The first seed Maria can meet is no.29 seed Monica Niculescu of Romania in the third round.
This will be Maria's tenth appearance at the All England Club and her best result was her magical run to the title in 2004. Last year, Maria made her second appearance in the final but this time she lost to reigning champion Petra Kvitova.
